Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients

2 tbsp olive oil

1 onion, sliced

4-5 cloves garlic, minced

1 green bell pepper, chopped

28 oz crushed tomatoes

8 oz tomato sauce

¼ cup tomato paste

1 ½ tbsp sugar

1 tbsp oregano

1 tsp salt, or to taste

2 tsp garlic powder

2 tsp onion powder

½ tsp red chili flakes

2 tbsp fresh basil, roughly chopped

Directions

  1. Heat oil over medium heat. Once hot add in onions and sauté for a couple of minutes before tossing in the garlic. Cook another minute or so until garlic is nice and fragrant. Add green bell pepper and continue sautéing a couple of minutes

  2. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato paste. Give a good stir and then add all your seasonings. These are rough measurements but may have to be adjusted depending on how acidic the tomatoes are, or just based off your own personal taste!

  3. Once bubbling, lower heat and cover. Simmer for 45 min. to an hour. The longer you simmer this all together, the better it tastes!

  4. Now if you like, you can add browned hamburger, or just spoon as is over your favorite pasta!
