Mozzarella Cheese Sticks

½ cup flour

½ tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

1 cup breadcrumbs

½ cup grated parmesan cheese

2 tsp garlic powder

½ tbsp dried oregano

2 eggs

1/3 cup heavy cream

10 mozzarella sticks

  1. Gather three bowls. To the first one, add flour, salt, and pepper. To the second bowl, add breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and oregano. In the third bowl, add eggs and heavy cream

  2. Use a fork to mix each bowl well

  3. Dip each mozzarella stick as follows; flour, egg, breadcrumbs, egg, breadcrumbs. By dipping in the egg and breadcrumbs twice, you develop a better coating that will become nice and crispy

  4. After all sticks are coated, place single link on a sheet or plate and place in the freezer for at least 1 hour

  5. When ready to fry, heat about ½ in of oil in large pan. Once oil is nice and hot, carefully add mozzarella sticks. Do not overcrowd pan and fry in batches if necessary.

  6. Oil should be very hot before starting. You only want to get the outside golden and crispy, and that should be enough just to get the cheese gooey. If you fry too long the cheese will start melting out of the crust

  7. Serve hot and with favorite dipping sauce
