Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients
1 ½ lbs potatoes
3 tsp salt, separated
½ tsp black pepper
4 tbsp butter, melted
½-1 cup whole milk
Directions
Peel, wash, and cut potatoes in large cubes. Place in pot and cover with water. Add 2 tsp salt and bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil until fork tender, about 10-15 minutes
Drain water from potatoes. Add in remaining 1 tsp salt (or add to taste), the black pepper, and melted butter. Use a potato masher to give a quick mash
Slowly add milk, about ¼ cup at a time, mashing as you go. Add milk until desired consistency is achieved.
Add a few pats of butter on top and allow to melt
