Homemade Cornbread
Ingredients
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp honey
½ cup butter, melted
1 egg
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
Directions
To bowl, add brown sugar, honey, and butter. Whisk until there are no lumps
Add egg and whisk again
Pour in buttermilk and give wet ingredients another mix until everything is well incorporated
To separate bowl, add cornmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until well incorporated
Add wet ingredients into the dry, and whisk everything together. Try not to over mix!
Grease a 9x9 pan and spread batter into pan until layered evenly
Bake at 400 F for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean
