½ tsp ghee

½ cup cracked wheat

1 ½ cup water

1 ½ cup milk

½ tsp cardamom powder

¼ cup sugar, or to taste

2 tbsp almonds, chopped


  1. To pressure cooker, add ghee. Once melted add cracked wheat. Stir and saute 2-3 minutes, or until it starts developing nice golden color

  2. Pour in water and place lid. Keep heat on medium and allow cooker to blow one whistle. Then decrease heat to medium-low and continue cooking 4-5 minutes. Once done, turn heat off and allow pressure to release from cooker

  3. Switch the heat back on to medium. Add milk, cardamom powder, and almonds. Give a good stir and allow to come to a boil and let cook 5 minutes more. Enjoy hot and add additional toppings such as raisins, pistachios, or more almonds if desired
