Crockpot Chicken and Dumplings

1 large onion, chopped

22 oz. cream of chicken

2 cups water or stock

1 tsp salt

1 tsp pepper

2 tbsp butter

3 chicken breasts

1 can biscuit dough

  1. To crockpot, add onion, cream of chicken, water, salt, pepper, butter, and chicken breasts

  2. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 hours, or until chicken is cooked thoroughly

  3. Use two forks to shred chicken. I like to do it right in the crockpot for less mess

  4. Using canned biscuit dough (or dumpling of choice), tear or cut dough into small pieces. Lay pieces all around the top of the crockpot (I used Pillsbury biscuit dough)

  5. Without stirring the dough, return lid and continue cooking an additional 40 minutes, or until biscuits are cooked through

  6. Best served over homemade mashed potatoes!
