Chocolate Chip Cookies


Ingredients

2 ¼ cup all- purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1 heaping tsp cinnamon

¾ cup butter plus 2 tbsp, room temp

2 tbsp shortening, room temp**

¾ cup brown sugar

¾ cup granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla

2 eggs

1.5 cups chocolate chips


**2 tbsp of butter can be used in place of shortening


Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F

  2. Mix together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set Aside

  3. In separate bowl, cream together the butter, shortening, and both kinds of sugar

  4. Make sure to scrape sides well throughout entire process

  5. Add vanilla and eggs. Mix until everything is well combined

  6. Pour in chocolate chips of choice (mini, dark chocolate, morsels, etc.)

  7. Use a small ice cream scoop, or two spoons to scoop dough onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper (about 2” apart)

  8. Dough amount depends on your desired size of cookie (mine were about 2 tbsp)

  9. Bake 11-14 minutes, or until edges are golden

  10. Allow to cool. Store in airtight container
